While the ZV-1 doesn’t fall into any of Sony’s existing product lines, it’s essentially a video-centric version of Sony’s successful RX100 series of compact cameras. It takes the 1-inch 20MP sensor and BIONZ X processing power of the RX100 VII, adds the bright Zeiss lens of the RX100 V, and adds some new vlogger-centric features. Sony ZV-1 review: Photo quality

Sony isn’t marketing the ZV-1 as a stills camera. It even drops its usual DSC (Digital Still Camera) product code in favor of just DC (Digital Still Camera). Yet the ZV-1 is still a very capable stills camera.

The 1-inch 20MP sensor produces large 5,472 x 3,648 images, while its BIONZ X processor allows photos to be taken at up to 24fps with autofocus and autoexposure enabled. The ZV-1 is feature-rich for video, but it’s the continuous autofocus feature that really makes it shine for vloggers. With 315 phase-detection points and 425 contrast-detection points, it focuses quickly and reliably, and can quickly focus on eyes, faces, or anywhere you choose via the touchscreen. Move up and down, side to side, forward and backward, and the ZV-1 will easily keep up. Battery life is also a little disappointing. In continuous, uninterrupted filming, I managed to record for 66 minutes before the Replacement Camera Battery for Sony Sony Z-V1

ran out. Using it in a more realistic setting, recording multiple individual clips, I got closer to 45 minutes on the Sony Z-V1 battery. Extra batteries aren’t hard to find, and anyone serious about video will probably carry more than one Sony camera batteries 

, it’s just a shame that Sony doesn’t include an external charger so you can keep it charged at all times.

Of course, we still only have a single control dial. You’ll really notice the limitation when taking selfies: since the dial is on the back, it’s almost impossible to adjust exposure settings when you’re standing in front of the camera. Not allowing users to change settings via the touchscreen seems like a missed opportunity. You can pair the ZV-1 with a companion app so you can control the camera from your smartphone, but this really doesn’t help much if your hands are already full of the camera.

The ZV-1 is a strong all-round camera that performs far better than other cameras of its size. With stable still images and excellent video capabilities, it should be on the attention of every social content creator.

The Vivoactive 4 is more refinement than revolution, but it’s good enough to be our favorite fitness smartwatch yet. The Vivoactive 4 features a completely revamped design, a host of new features (most notably music playback), and, most importantly, a lower price, making it one of the most attractive fitness smartwatches you can currently buy.

One of the most notable changes to the Vivoactive 4 compared to its predecessor is that it now comes in two sizes, with the 40mm “S” model aimed at users with smaller wrists. This smaller device is lighter and cheaper than your average 45mm smartwatch, but it also lasts less on a single charge.

Inspired by the Vivoactive 3 Music, the watch now comes standard with music playback, including offline storage for Spotify and Deezer. It offers animated guided workouts, which combined with Garmin’s “coaching” tools make the Vivoactive 4 a better choice for runners and fitness novices than previous devices.

There are a host of other new features, such as Garmin’s Body Garmin Vivoactive 4/4S Batteryfeature and blood oxygen monitoring, which build on the core fitness tracking features of Garmin’s fitness wearables, which include GPS, heart rate tracking and sleep tracking. Garmin Pay is also supported thanks to its NFC chip, although only a few UK banks have signed up to the service.

As I mentioned in my Garmin Venu review, the only downside to the Garmin Vivoactive 3 was its unflattering design. It wasn’t ugly, but it wasn’t something you’d be eager to show off, either.

The Vivoactive 4 has largely addressed that, though. For a start, its screen is larger at 1.3 inches (versus 1.2 inches on the Vivoactive 3), and combined with slimmer bezels and slightly curved glass at the edges, the watch looks more refined than its predecessor. The screen isn’t an AMOLED panel like on the Venu, but a transflective Memory-in-Pixel display that’s legible in bright sunlight and, importantly, always on. Other major design changes are that the Vivoactive 4 has two buttons instead of one, and comes in two different sizes.

The standout new feature of both watches right now is undoubtedly music playback. This not only allows you to stream music files directly to the watch, but also connects to third-party services like Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer. Depending on how you feel about features like BodySmart Watch Battery Garmin and music playback, upgrading from the already excellent Vivoactive 3 might not be a top priority. But happily, by adding Spotify support and improving the look of the watch, Garmin has addressed most people’s minor complaints about the old device.

Beyond these tweaks, the Vivoactive 4 includes a host of handy new features, such as hydration and period tracking, and animated guided workouts. Considering the relatively low price, there’s little not to like; as far as sports watches go, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better offering.

As you may expect with an ultra-thin laptop, the onboard speakers aren’t the highest quality you’ll ever find in a laptop. They do a pretty good job with treble, but you absolutely need to crank the volume up to 100 to get much of any bass. Listening to Earth, Wind, and Fire’s “September” was a bit tinny and lost some depth but was pretty serviceable for a laptop.

It may not have the biggest

Galaxy S5 battery on the market, but it has achieved impressive scores in a series of battery tests published online.

The first round of tests, conducted by smartphone.bg, recorded the time each device took to perform various tasks, including talk time, internet browsing, and playing 3D games. The Galaxy S5 consistently came out on top in the results when compared to the iPhone 5S, LG G2, Galaxy Note 3, Xperia Z1, and Nexus 5.

All of the results below are in minutes (click to enlarge). The second set of results, from Korean site Playwares, compares the Galaxy S5’s battery consumption at maximum screen brightness levels. The first set of results shows the maximum brightness reached by each phone in nits, a unit of visible light intensity. The results were nearly identical across all phone models. The second test compared each device’s battery life at 230 nits with a white screen and WiFi on and off. It’s worth noting that the first set of tests was conducted with the display brightness reduced to just 120 nits. The Galaxy S5 outperformed many smartphones with larger  Samsung Galaxy S5 martphone battery.When it came to gaming, the Samsung chip outlasted all of its competitors by a wide margin, and had an impressive 1,500 minutes of talk time. Only the LG G2 and Galaxy Note 3 were able to match that number. In the display tests, the Galaxy S5 was only beaten by devices with higher-capacity batteries or lower-resolution screens (which use fewer pixels to power), another impressive performance from Samsung’s latest flagship. Samsung’s smartphone success in these tests is largely due to its energy-efficient components. Samsung’s AMOLED displays are quite battery-efficient compared to LCDs, and Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 801 chip also does a good job of balancing power consumption. Dyson’s V8 Absolute cordless vacuum cleaner takes everything that was great about the already impressive V6 Absolute and takes it to the next level. It doesn’t look drastically different from its predecessor, and Dyson has hardly reinvented the wheel, but these sophisticated refinements rather than radical changes make the V8 Absolute the best cordless vacuum cleaner to buy when it first launches.

The V8 is much quieter than the V6 before it, making vacuuming a much less strenuous endeavor. Dyson claims a 50% reduction in noise, and while we have to take Dyson’s word for it, it’s certainly friendlier to the ears. It’s a much lower frequency sound, and while vacuuming is never a silent activity, it’s nice to see that the often overly loud noise output has been reduced.

The digital motor inside the V8 Absolute is more powerful. It now runs at 425W, while the V6 runs at 325W. The dustbin capacity has also been increased from the former’s 0.4L to 0.54L.

Dyson V8 Absolute takes the lead

This is an important change, as the  Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Battery capacity has now doubled, giving it a run time of 40 minutes. The larger dustbin means you’ll be emptying and recharging the V8 much less often.

While Dyson says the previous generation’s 20 minutes of Dyson V8 Absolute battery life was enough for a quick clean of the house, especially because triggering the power button means it only switches on when you need it, the extra runtime is still a good thing. If you use a mini power tool, you’ll get around 25 minutes of Dyson V8 Absolute battery life. For the first time, this product has a battery meter so you know how much charge is left.

The compromise, of course, is performance, but if you’re a student or looking to buy an entry-level experience for your kid’s homework assignments, the Jumper EZbook X3 Air might be a great buy for you.The best thing about the Jumper EZbook X3 Air is the surprisingly high-quality construction and finish, especially when you take into account that svelte price point. Chamfered edges with a metallic finish really give it a hint of premium flair, with chiclet keys with decent key travel and a precision touchpad that makes browsing and word processing quite pleasant.The EZbook X3 Air sports a 1080p HD IPS display, which gets decent color reproduction and sharpness, but lacks brightness to the point where it might be unusable outdoors. For the most part, though, you’ ll probably be using this in an office or a school scenario, which renders the brightness a bit of a moot point. For indoor use, it’s totally adequate, with decent viewing angles. Just keep it away from a window, though, because this panel is not really designed to ward off glare.
The bezels around the display are more the sort I’d expect to see on higher-end brands, thin enough to give it a dash of modernity, while still remaining affordable. The top bezel is angled a little wider to house a webcam, which is a preferable solution to putting the webcam down low as we’ve seen on some laptops that become a little too over-obsessed with thin bezels. The webcam quality will be decent enough for taking those work or school Zoom calls, but don’t expect to be doing any content creation with it.
Speaking of audio, the EZbook X3 Air Laptop Battery has downward-firing speakers that pull surprisingly impressive sound, oftentimes better than what I’ve heard on far more expensive laptops, complete with DTS certification.
What about performance?The Jumper EZbook X3 Air is a laptop that is designed with a very specific consumer in mind, with components that were designed for very specific consumers. The EZbook X3 Air utilizes Intel’s Gemini Lake Celeron processor, which has both advantages and disadvantages .
I was actually fairly impressed with the performance of the EZbook X3 Air. It handles media apps like Netflix with ease, and most websites run well on Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Office tools like Word, Powerpoint, and the like don’t struggle. However, if you try to move up to things like Adobe Photoshop, or even higher, like Premiere Pro, you may find that you’ve hit the limits of what this laptop can do.
This isn’t being marketed as a gaming machine by any means either, but when services like Project xCloud on Xbox Game Pass proliferate on PC, this could actually become a decent gaming option for in between those intense study sessions. The Intel Graphics HD 600 combined with 8GB of RAM and the quad-core Celeron processor can actually make short work of many older, less-intensive gaming titles on Steam as well. Just don’t expect to be running Cyberpunk 2077 or any modern game on this thing. Even Minecraft and World of Warcraft don’t run particularly well.
The battery performance fell largely in-line with listed expectations, hitting about 4-5 hours on a single charge with average day-to-day blogging use. This might not be enough to get a full workday out of for most people, but using Windows 10’s battery-saving features can push that juice up to around 6-7 hours.
Update January 15, 2021: After a few months of light use, the  EZbook Laptop Battery HDD died, and the system has a strange BIOS that makes repairing it difficult.
Should you buy the Jumper EZbook X3 Air?For the vast majority of people, the Jumper EZbook X3 Air is actually a surprisingly capable machine, for things like web browsing, Office, webmail, and beyond. The experience offers a few compromises when it comes to more intensive tasks, but for college students looking to save money, or someone looking to buy their kid an entry-level laptop experience, this is a truly great option.
The Jumper EZbook X3 Air might not win any best Windows laptop awards, and you won’t be editing 4K video footage on the Jumper EZbook X3 Air Laptop Battery or playing next-gen AAA games with ray tracing. I suspect you knew that already, though. This is more akin to a netbook experience, and in that, the EZbook X3 Air excels. However, the HDD failed after just a few months of use, which is a grim reminder of what can happen if you buy cheap hardware. This is probably best avoided.For college students, older kids, or someone who just wants the basics of word processing, emails, and maybe some Netflix, the EZbook X3 Air is a truly great option. Or, it would be, if the HDD didn’t fail after a few months of light use.
