Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus review: Middle child syndrome

Samsung’s Galaxy S Plus series has always been somewhere between the refined looks of the entry-level models and the comprehensiveness of the Ultra series. The Galaxy S24 Plus shows signs that this middle ground is trying to develop on its own.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus review: design and key features

This year’s Galaxy S24 models have become more square and angular. Like the regular S24, the Galaxy S24 Plus also means the elimination of any curves on the side frames.

The result is that the Galaxy S24 Plus looks and feels very similar to the iPhone. Of course, the irony is that Apple has begun adding curves to its smartphones in the iPhone 15 series. Regardless, the design of the Galaxy S24 Plus is pleasing, albeit derivative. Even the unique, non-functional camera module is much more bland than before.

As you’d expect, the Galaxy S24 Plus is a lot larger than the regular S24, but Samsung has done a good job of making the larger phone usable every day. The S24 Plus is 7.7mm thick and weighs right around 200g (196g to be exact), making it relatively easy to carry around despite its size. It’s also pretty rugged, with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back, and an Armor Aluminum 2 frame. The Galaxy S24 Plus is IP68 rated, so it’s also water and dust resistant enough.

The Galaxy S24 Plus not only has a larger screen than its 6.2-inch little brother (it measures 6.7 inches, up from the S23 Plus’ 6.6 inches), but it’s finally squeezed in a decent number of pixels. The previous Plus model had an FHD+ display, much like the non-Plus model, which meant the resolution wasn’t too crisp. In the Galaxy S24 Plus, you get a full QHD+, or 1,440 x 3120 resolution, much like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. You need to activate this feature in the Settings menu, which I of course did immediately, but once it was activated, the Galaxy S24 Plus finally felt like it could compete with the likes of the Pixel 8 Pro and OnePlus 12.

It’s an LTPO panel that can be adjusted between 1 and 120Hz, making it more efficient than ever. That’s a good thing, too, because with HDR, peak brightness is boosted to 2,600cd/m2. With auto-brightness turned off, I recorded a maximum brightness of 718cd/m2, which is pretty good. Switching to Natural screen mode, color accuracy was respectable without being overly harsh. I recorded 99% sRGB color gamut coverage and an average Delta E of 1.65. Unsurprisingly, all of these numbers are very similar to the Galaxy S24. Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus review: performance and

life

Unfortunately, Samsung has taken a step back a bit when it comes to processors in the Galaxy S24 series. Last year, Samsung went all-in on Qualcomm solutions, and this year, the global model of the Galaxy S24 Plus (like the Galaxy S24) runs the company’s custom Exynos 2400 chip.

All the usual benchmarks show it has a broad flagship experience, but it’s not as fast as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that ships with the US model. Considering the inclusion of a QHD+ display, it offers the slowest GPU performance of the series, only slightly ahead of the Galaxy S23 Plus in our usual testing. However, when it comes to sustained gaming performance, the Galaxy S24 Plus performs even worse than the Galaxy S24. Using the 3D Mark Solar Bay stress test, which runs a 20-minute graphics-intensive test that simulates a high-end gaming session, the Galaxy S24 Plus scored a pretty terrible 52.5% (10% worse than the S24), suggesting that the phone slows down significantly under load. I would have liked the Galaxy S24 Plus’s heat sink to provide additional surface area, but the Exynos 2400 seems to be struggling to run this super-sharp QHD+ display efficiently. No wonder Samsung uses FHD+ by default.

It may not be great for long gaming sessions, but the Galaxy S24 runs pretty efficiently when the load is light. While the 4,900mAh Galaxy S24 battery

is relatively small for a large-screen phone, it is larger than the 4,700mAh

 Galaxy S23 Plus battery

that came before it.

Despite its larger, brighter, and sharper display, the Galaxy S24 Plus lasted 28 hours and 13 minutes in our loop Galaxy S24 Plus battery

test. That’s about an hour and 40 minutes longer than the Galaxy S23 Plus and nearly nine hours longer than the Pixel 8 Pro, but also an hour and a half shorter than the OnePlus 12 and about six hours shorter than the Galaxy S24 Ultra. In general use, I was able to get about five hours of screen time all day and still have about 45% charge left. Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus review: Software

Like the rest of the Galaxy S24 series, the Plus model runs Android 14 with One UI 6.1. There’s a lot to love about Samsung’s custom UI. For me, it’s a little busy, with too much bloatware, and the setup process requires too much fiddling if you’re fully committed to the Google ecosystem.

None of this is insurmountable, but I found the need to manually switch to gesture-based controls and install things like Google Wallet a little annoying. The same goes for Samsung’s app tray layout, which arranges things in an atypical way. Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus review: Conclusion

Samsung has built another strong full-size flagship phone in the Galaxy S24 Plus, and it’s taken a step forward with a more competitive display and a larger Galaxy S24 Plus battery

Its Galaxy AI features range from cool gimmicks to downright useful tools.

You also get a larger 4,900mAhGalaxy S24 Plus batterywith support for 45W wired charging. However, the 50MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and 10MP 3x zoom camera system remain the same as its smaller sibling.

Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra robot vacuum review

The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is a high-spec, feature-rich, premium robot and mop. It excels at the basics and can reliably clean both hard floors and carpets. The build quality is high and the app is intuitive. However, some of the fancy new features feel underdeveloped: the voice assistant was unreliable in my testing, and the telescopic side brush often failed to extend when needed. The small onboard dustbin and water tank mean it might not be the best choice for people with very large homes. But overall, it’s an impressive robot vacuum cleaner and a good choice for those looking for precise control.

Launched in July 2024, the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is a high-spec, feature-rich robot vacuum cleaner and mop with an automatic emptying base. For this model, Roborock has tweaked its basic features to provide a more efficient and effective clean, and added fancier new extras. I tested it to see how it compares to the other best robot vacuum cleaners available today, and whether it’s good value for money.

Overall, I was impressed. In terms of cleaning, it does a very good job, with reliable suction that performed well when I tested different sizes of debris. I found mopping to be equally effective, with the extra side mop doing a good job of mopping to the edges of a room.

There are a number of different options that offer precision cleaning, and there are some useful features, such as the ability to sense carpets and increase suction accordingly, and the ability for the mop pad to be raised 2cm off the ground so the carpet doesn’t get wet if you choose to mop first. The rubber roller is very good at grabbing hair and pushing it straight into the dust cup before it has a chance to tangle, but the same can’t be said for the roller shaft.

Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Vacuum Cleaner Battery

The S8 MaxV Ultra is the first to feature Roborock’s smart voice assistant, and while being able to command a robot vacuum cleaner is appealing, in actual use I found it struggled to understand the most basic commands. The retractable side brush for reaching under furniture and into corners was equally unreliable. Like a shy turtle, it refused to come out, even when it was clearly needed. Roborock says this robot vacuum can intelligently identify 73 common household objects and avoid them. If you ask it to do so, it will even send you photos of those objects for your approval. In testing, results were mixed – it correctly identified some items, though not every time it encountered them, and it seemed to have a particular problem with socks.

Another use for the built-in camera is to let this robot vacuum do a “pet patrol” while you’re out. It’ll find your pet and take photos, and you can even talk to it directly via the two-way microphone.

Also in this range is the Roborock S8 Max Ultra (sans the “V”). It has slightly less suction power (8,000Pa compared to 10,000Pa for the MaxV), and lacks a smart voice assistant (although it still has third-party voice control) and a camera, which may appeal to those concerned about the privacy issues of these features. It’s also slightly cheaper.

For those who want a high-spec machine, I recommend the S8 MaxV Ultra robovac, which delivers precision cleaning and works equally well on hard floors and carpets. But if you don’t want all those extra features – especially considering some still need a little polish – there are cheaper, less fancy options that are perfect for general use. That’s the short version; read on for my full Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra review.

The best Samsung smartphones to buy in 2024

Which Samsung smartphone is best for me? This is definitely not an easy question to answer,

Best Foldable Phone: Galaxy Z Fold 6

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 held vertically, seen from the back, half open. Similar to the S24 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 hasn’t changed much from previous generations. Still, the Fold 6 is one of the most reliable and durable foldable phones on the market, with premium features that come at a premium price.

It has a bright, fast 7.6-inch AMOLED display, top-notch Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC performance, an excellent camera, long

Galaxy Z Fold 6 battery

life, and the best update support among foldable phones. However, it gets hot when performing demanding tasks, doesn’t charge particularly quickly, and the S Pen still requires a special case. Despite these shortcomings, the Fold 6 is still a technological masterpiece. In 2024, the mid-range Galaxy A series gets a slight upgrade and a more premium look. The new Galaxy A35 and A55 share the same overall design as the Galaxy S series, but feature the same large 6.6-inch OLED display. They differ mainly in the faster processor and the metal frame used on the more expensive models.

The new Galaxy A35 does away with the V-shaped notch in favor of a punch-hole design for the selfie camera, making it indistinguishable from the more expensive models. Performance has also been improved by inheriting the powerful Exynos 1380 chip used on the Galaxy A54, which should provide adequate performance for everyday tasks and most games.

If you value photography, fast charging, or gaming performance more, there are better options at this price point. However, the Galaxy A35 strikes a good balance between performance and features and has a best-in-class software update policy.Samsung Galaxy A35 battery

From a technical perspective, the Fold is still the most impressive. Samsung has packed every possible feature into it, including S-Pen support and a camera hidden in the display. However, the Galaxy Z Flip is even more impressive, being very compact when folded, and should also be clearly ahead of the Fold in terms of buyers. Visually, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a noticeably larger cover display, which is impressive. In addition, both models can now be folded completely flat.

In addition to the current models launched in 2024, you can also find predecessors in the table. Since the prices of these older devices have dropped rapidly since their launch, they may be a good opportunity for you to experience the foldable device game.

Blackview BL9000 Pro: Outdoor smartphone with FLIR Mobile SDK, 5G Dimensity 8020, and more

Following the recent bankruptcy of manufacturer CAT, emerging tech brand Blackview has become the only company in the rugged outdoor phone market dedicated to thermal imaging technology using the world-class FLIR Mobile SDK and MyFLIR Pro app. The new Blackview BL9000 Pro is a direct competitor to the CAT S62 Pro. It has significant improvements in hardware, software, and thermal imaging capabilities. Particularly noteworthy are the 5G MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, 50 MP front and rear cameras, 120 Hz display, 120 W ultra-fast charging, dual Harman Kardon speakers with Harman AudioEFX, and Android 14 (DokeOS 4.0). Blackview BL9000 Pro: Equipped with a powerful thermal imaging camera

The flagship feature of the Blackview BL9000 Pro is of course the thermal imaging camera. It uses the same FLIR Lepton 3.5 sensor as the CAT S62 Pro. It offers a resolution of 160 x 120 pixels – four times that of previous models – and therefore provides the clearest thermal images to date.

The BL9000 Pro also relies on the exclusive MyFLIR Pro app and introduces innovative MSX imaging features. These include a picture-in-picture mode that helps identify problems more accurately.

A new temperature alarm detects temperature anomalies and automatically triggers an alarm while generating an analysis report. Supported by the Teledyne FLIR Mobile SDK, Android and iOS developers can integrate FLIR thermal imaging technology into their mobile apps for a better user experience.

Blackview BL9000 Pro: Display and Design

The Blackview BL9000 Pro features a larger 6.78-inch display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,460 pixels and a frame rate of up to 120 Hz. This not only makes it larger and faster than the CAT S62 Pro, but also has a higher resolution. As a rugged outdoor smartphone, the BL9000 Pro can easily withstand a drop from 1.2 meters and stay in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. This makes it an ideal companion for rainforest adventures or harsh outdoor work environments.

Powerful Hardware

The CAT S62 Pro uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, while the Blackview BL9000 Pro is equipped with a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset and supports 5G. It is equipped with up to 36 GB RAM (12 GB RAM 24 GB RAM expansion), and 512 GB system memory, which can be expanded to 1 TB via a microSD card. With this powerful configuration, the BL9000 Pro can handle the use of multiple applications at the same time and can store more photos, videos, and files.

Blackview BL9000 Pro vs CAT S62 Pro: Camera

The Blackview BL9000 Pro is equipped with a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GN5 main camera, supplemented by a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a macro lens. For selfies and video calls, the BL9000 Pro’s 50 MP front camera is better than the CAT S62 Pro, which only has an 8 MP front camera. Both the front and rear cameras of the BL9000 Pro can record 4K video, which is perfect for shooting vlogs and short videos. The latest ArcSoft 8.0 image algorithm and AI camera enhancement also ensure that you always have perfect image quality.

8.880 mAh Blackview BL9000 Pro batteryand Android 14

The Blackview BL9000 Pro is equipped with an 8,800 mAh

Blackview BL9000 Pro battery for long-term operation. It can also be charged with up to 120 watts of power, so it can be fully charged in just 53 minutes. The smartphone also relies on two HarmanKardon Smart PA speakers with Harman AudioEFX sound technology for full and immersive sound. Uses the latest Android 14 and DokeOS 4.0 as the operating system.

All in all, the Blackview BL9000 Pro outperforms the CAT S62 Pro in terms of performance, memory, camera, Blackview BL9000 Pro battery, audio, and operating system. It offers all the advanced thermal imaging features that FLIR licenses exclusively for CAT, and goes far beyond it.

A week with the Surface Laptop 7: There’s a lot to like, but the Copilot Plus PC isn’t perfect

The first Microsoft Surface Laptop powered by Snapdragon X shows the potential of the move to Arm. Lingering emulation issues should make potential buyers think twice, but the performance boost, impressive Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 batterylife, and some interesting new AI features offer a sleek, refined Windows experience. I’ve been using the first Copilot Plus PC (Microsoft 7th Gen Surface Laptop) for over a week now, and the experience has been mixed. I’ve waited seven years for Windows on Arm to deliver on its promise of long battery life and performance that rivals the best in the industry. Thankfully, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X platform delivers on these fronts, but there are still some caveats that should make potential buyers think twice before spending so much money.

On the other hand, we have AI, the current buzzword in the tech industry. While AI does offer some impressive capabilities, it’s on the verge of overuse and over-stuffing into every little feature of smartphones and now laptops. Add in competitive processing, and Microsoft is hoping AI can outdo Apple’s MacBook. But are Copilot Plus PCs the future of computing or just a flash in the pan?

If you’re considering buying one of these new machines, here’s everything you need to know about the experience.

For this review, I tested a 15-inch Microsoft Surface Laptop (2024) with a 12-core Snapdragon X Elite (X1E80100), 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD configuration.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 7th Gen (2024)

Microsoft Surface Laptop

Copilot Plus PCs Meet Our Hardware Needs

Microsoft Surface 7th Gen USB C Ports

While I used a Microsoft Surface Laptop for this review, there are actually a lot of options if you want to experience the Copilot Plus PC experience. Dell, HP, Samsung, and others all offer hardware in the $1,300 price range with the same or similar Snapdragon X CPUs and dedicated Copilot keys. So, in terms of the core experience, these PCs are all very similar; the design, keyboard, and display features are very different.

Still, the Microsoft Surface Laptop’s design sets a new standard, and it’s well built, as you’d expect from a seventh-generation $999-plus laptop. The recycled aluminum alloy comes in a stylish Sapphire (blue) or Dune (bronze/tan) colorway, as well as practical black and silver. I opted for the latter and was not disappointed. With a pixel-dense 2,496 x 1,664 HDR touchscreen, responsive tactile keys, and future-proof Wi-Fi 7 support, Microsoft certainly showed us how good the Copilot Plus PC hardware is.

Surface Laptop batterylife

My only complaint: The 15-inch model is a bit heavy at 1.7 kg (3.67 pounds), compared to the less-than-1 kg Huawei MateBook X Pro (2024) Ultrabook and the 1.24 kg MacBook Air. Still, Microsoft has packed in a battery that should easily get you through a full workday. As everyone has said, battery life on these devices is truly outstanding. I haven’t experienced Microsoft’s 20-hour video playback or 15-hour web browsing metrics (at a fairly dim 150 nits brightness), but the latter isn’t far off the 10 hours or more I’ve seen when using a laptop during the day. But there’s a big asterisk with these battery claims, which we’ll get to later.

No matter which Copilot Plus PC you choose, you’re getting Snapdragon X performance, AI extras, and long Laptop Battery life.

For a cutting-edge device, I found the selection of USB ports a little odd. Two multifunction USB-C ports are flanked by USB-A sockets and a 3.5mm headphone jack, while a microSD card is hidden in another port, which I find useful. But it’s 2024, and I could live without the old port types if it made the laptop a little lighter (my desktop audio, display, and keyboard are on dongles anyway), but I appreciate that others might still find some use in these traditional use cases. Unfortunately, the USB-A port failed a few times for me, completely refusing to accept or power any connections until a reboot. Likewise, the USB-C port sometimes struggled to communicate with the DisplayPort through my USB-C hub. Maybe there’s something wrong with my device, or the hub isn’t very good. I haven’t had this issue with other laptops, though.

When you do eventually need to power the laptop, the 65W USB Power Delivery gets you back on pretty quickly, even if it’s not the highest power level you’ll see in a laptop of this class. Microsoft stubbornly sticks with its stupid proprietary connector port and bundles a 12-pin charger with the laptop (39W for the 13-inch model, 65W for the 15-inch). As far as I’m concerned, this plug is just e-waste, since I already power the laptop with one of the many USB-C plugs I already have.

LG Gram Style 14 laptop review: Elegant, fast and (too) hot

This ultra-thin laptop from LG weighs less than 1 kilogram (about 2.2 pounds), but is equipped with an Intel Core i7-1360P, 32 GB of working memory, and an OLED display. In addition to performance, the Gram Style has several other advantages. What impressed me most was the different rainbow colors of light that radiate from the surface of the case. With a few odd exceptions, the laptop runs completely silently. The LG Gram Style 14 is all about portability. Its light weight, ultra-compact body, 14-inch display, and long battery life allow it to do just that. With an Intel Raptor Lake P-series i5 or i7 processor, you won’t experience any slowdown in computing performance. The rest of the device also meets high-end requirements: a 3K OLED display, high-quality input devices, and large and fast storage.

What stands out is the color scheme across the palm rest and display lid. This is by no means ordinary; depending on the angle of the light, it changes its appearance into a myriad of color facets. Meanwhile, thanks to the passive mode, the laptop also manages to remain incredibly thin and light – a feature only offered by a similarly powerful device: the Apple MacBook Air 15 M2.

Competitors with similar mobility and speed include the HP Dragonfly G4 and the Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 14, both with the same display. In our tests, you’ll see what makes the competition better, why the LG Gram Style performs better, and why it can’t be made completely silent. Camera

The Full HD webcam is perfect for video calls and the image quality is satisfactory. The camera is particularly successful, delivering clearly readable recordings even in low light. However, you should not wear black, as it gives the phone an extreme green tint, at least in our test device.

Additionally, it is equipped with an infrared camera, supports facial recognition, and has no mechanical lens cover.

The microphone is suitable for its intended purpose. You can easily and clearly record voice with uniform volume even at different distances to the speaker and speaking angles. A slight metallic sound does not interfere with video calls at least. The built-in battery and fan are easily removable. You can also replace or expand the two M.2 NVMe SSDs. It works with one 2 TB SSD, which makes it easy to expand the storage. At the same time, the two SSDs installed in parallel can also be used for permanent backup of the system. The WLAN module and RAM are soldered, which is not surprising given the slim case. life of the LG Gram Style 14 Battery life isn’t as good as you’d expect from a large 72Wh battery, due to slightly higher power draw at idle, but 10 hours of battery life in video tests and over 11 hours browsing a variety of demanding websites is still good in real life. This means you can easily use the Gram Style 14 all day on the go without having to hunt for a power outlet.

Meanwhile, for example, the HP Dragonfly G4 has a slightly smaller HP Dragonfly G4 battery and a slightly weaker CPU, but it lasts 4 hours longer. With a few more refinements, the LG laptop could have taken the top spot here, but this is a missed opportunity.

The display hinge seems a bit too thin. The LG Gram is lighter, but the hinge area is larger, which makes the folding mechanism more stable. Energy consumption

The low power limitations of the i7-1360P in the LG Gram Style 14 are especially noticeable under load: it consumes an average of 40 watts of power. The Huawei MateBook X Pro with the same CPU consumes 20 watts more. A 65-watt charger with USB-C connection is more than enough for any scenario.

Power consumption at minimum load seems a little high, but many similarly well-equipped ultra-thin laptops perform better in this regard.

Battery life and charging times – Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 review

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Battery Life Modern tablets usually have no problem keeping users going all day. Even the original iPad was rated for 10 hours of use, and most tablets from various vendors tend to meet or exceed that mark when it comes to workloads like web browsing and video watching. But as manufacturers try to shrink the size and weight of tablets, the size of the batteries must also be reduced. This can be offset by battery savings across the platform, but if not, it can be hard to get a tablet to last a full day, even when performing relatively light tasks.
When the Tab S2 was first announced, I was concerned about the battery capacity of both models. The original Tab S tablet was already very thin, and the two Tab S2 tablets are again the thinnest in their class, so Samsung had to reduce the battery capacity of each model. Equally concerning, the original Tab S tablet had some battery life issues of its own. However, there is really no way to measure the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 just by looking atGalaxy Tab battery So we turned to the standard battery test suite, including the WiFi web browsing overview, video playback test, BaseMark OS II battery test, PCMark battery test,  Samsung tablet battery test, and GFXBench 3 battery test. The web Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 battery, life test is highly dependent on the display, and the Tab S2 did not perform well in the test. At 6.07 hours, it was the second-worst result after the Dell Venue 10 7040, which we found to have a very poor web browsing battery life. It is almost certain that this result is due to the power required by the display, as the high white levels of a typical web page significantly increase the power consumption of an AMOLED. The results of this test led us to question some of the design decisions made during the creation of the Tab S2. Apparently, this issue was meant to occur during the test, and the Tab S2’s platform chargewas significantly more thanthe Samsung Galaxy Tab S2’s built-in battery
Like its predecessor, the Tab S2 performed very well in the video playback battery test. The power consumption when decoding video is essentially a fixed amount, so the results also depend on the display power. The ability to turn off black pixels is a big advantage for AMOLED devices, resulting in the category-leading scores above. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 battery, so it may run a few hours slower than the original Tab S tablet. Admittedly, the Tab S2 is not as good for watching movies as previous tablets because of its aspect ratio, but it’s still good enough to watch a few movies or a season of a TV show on an airplane or train. At first glance, the Tab S2 appears to perform well in the BaseMark OS II battery test. The runtime is above the median, which is probably a good thing. Unfortunately, there are actually two parts to this test. The BaseMark battery test runs a CPU load over time, so you need to take into account the performance of the device during the test. The Tab S2’s CPU utilization is among the lowest I’ve ever seen for a mobile device. This effectis reflected in the Tab S2 battery In that sense, the BaseMark OS II results actually stack up against the Tab S2.

This runtime was achieved due to low CPU usage during the test. Based on the results so far, I didn’t expect great battery life from the Tab in PCMark’s battery test. When the test was over, I was really surprised that the Tab S2’s score was much higher than any other tablet. This is likely due to the relatively high CPU idle time and the lower average APL of the monitor compared to the Web Browsing test and the BaseMark OS II battery test. This shows that the Tab S2 can achieve good battery life even under a very mixed and balanced workload, but this is what happens when you run display and CPU intensive tasks for a long time. Previous tests have shown that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2’s battery is drained.  In the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 battery  benchmark on GFXBench, the Galaxy Tab S2 lasted very long. However, there are actually two sides to this test. If a device lasts longer but maintains a totally unplayable frame rate during the test, it cannot be said that it will provide a better experience than a device that runs at a very high frame rate for half of its life. That. If a user encounters this type of workload while playing a game, the game remains playable.
In this case, the Tab S2 couldn’t even reach 30fps, dropping performance to 17fps after about 25 minutes. In comparison, the iPad Air 2 stalled an hour earlier than the Tab S2, but reached a frame rate of about 50fps and maintained it for the entire duration. The Nexus 9 only lasted two and a half hours, but also achieved a much higher frame rate in the benchmark test. These results are a good example showing that the difference in GPU performance between the Tab S2 and the iPad Air 2 and Nexus 9 is actually much larger than a single run of the GPU benchmark would suggest.

I think the Galaxy Tab S2 definitely chose a thinner chassis to cut into the Galaxy Tab S2 battery life of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 , but I don’t think it was the right decision. The Tab S2 easily surpasses all other full-size tablets in terms of thickness and quality, but it does suffer from poor Galaxy Tab S2 batterylife in some cases. Web  tablet Galaxy Tab battery life is not as good as it should be, and BaseMark OS II suggests that the Tab S2 needs to keep its CPU performance at a very low level to achieve runtime under sustained CPU-intensive workloads. . PCMark suggests that you’re more likely to get better battery life than a highly mixed workload, but in my own experience, if you’re typically doing a lot of web browsing, news reading, and Microsoft Office, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2’s battery life is closer to the results. BaseMark. . OS II and the web browsing test surpassed PCMark’s battery test.
Charging time

Tablets have much larger batteries than most smartphones, so even before smartphones had fast charging, tablets were equipped with high-power chargers. Unfortunately, the Tab S2 is an exception to this trend and does not support fast charging. In fact, the tablet did not even come with a standard Samsung charging brick. And since it does not support fast charging, I used an 18W QC2 to make sure the charging brick could deliver more than 5W to the tablet. It charges with a 0.0 charger. The Tab S2 has a charging time of 4.68 hours, but considering the small battery capacity and  sacrifice in battery life of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S battery, I think this is a big mistake on Samsung’s part. If you perform CPU-intensive tasks or do a lot of web browsing, it may take a long time for the Tab S2 to fully charge. The battery life and charging time of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 are not great either
